Why this work is worth doing properly.
Vinyl has become the default renovation floor for good reason — it is waterproof, hard-wearing, warm underfoot, and comes in convincing timber and stone looks. But like any thin floor, it telegraphs every bump in the base, so the result depends on how flat the subfloor is prepared.
We supply and install click-lock SPC and glue-down luxury vinyl for homes, offices, and shops. The base is levelled first, the vinyl is laid with the correct expansion allowance, and edges are trimmed for a clean, flat finish.

Inspect the base
We check the existing floor for level and soundness, since thin vinyl shows every high and low spot underneath.

Level the subfloor
Hollows and bumps are patched or self-levelled so the finished vinyl sits flat and does not flex.

Lay the vinyl
Click or glue-down vinyl is installed with the correct perimeter gap and staggered joints for stability.

Trim and clean
Skirtings and thresholds are fitted, the floor cleaned, and we confirm the finish with you before handover.
Is vinyl flooring really waterproof?
SPC and most luxury vinyl are waterproof at the surface and core, so spills do not swell the floor the way they can with laminate. Standing water can still seep at the joints over time, so wet areas are best sealed at the edges.
Can vinyl be laid over existing tiles?
Yes, if the tiles are sound and reasonably level. Wide or deep grout lines may need filling first so they do not telegraph through the vinyl. We assess and level the base before laying.
How long does vinyl installation take?
Click vinyl over a level base is quick — often a room a day. Extra time is needed if the subfloor requires levelling or if glue-down vinyl is used, which needs curing before the floor is loaded.
