Overview

Why this work is worth doing properly.

Tiling is unforgiving — a floor that is out of level or joints that drift show up the moment the furniture goes in. The difference between a good and bad tile job is almost entirely in the base preparation and the setting-out, not the tile itself.

We lay new floor and wall tiles for kitchens, bathrooms, living areas, and full units, either overlaying suitable existing floors or hacking and re-laying. Substrates are screeded level, wet areas are waterproofed, and tiles are set out so cuts fall where they are least seen.

What we cover

New Tiling works we carry out.

Floor tiling

Porcelain, homogeneous, and natural stone floor tiles laid level over a screeded, primed base with minimal lippage.

Wall tiling

Bathroom, kitchen, and feature wall tiling set out square, with tidy cuts at corners, edges, and around fittings.

Screeding and waterproofing

Levelling screeds and membrane waterproofing to wet areas before tiling, so leaks do not appear later.

Overlay tiling

Laying over sound existing floors where suitable, avoiding the mess and cost of full hacking.

How it works

From your first message to a clean handover.

  1. 01

    Check the substrate

We assess the existing floor for level and soundness and decide between overlay and a full hack-and-lay.

  2. 02

    Screed and waterproof

The base is screeded true, and wet areas receive a waterproofing membrane that is tested before tiling.

  3. 03

    Set out and lay

Tiles are set out so cut tiles fall in the least visible positions, then laid to a consistent level with spacers.

  4. 04

    Grout and clean

Joints are grouted and tooled evenly, silicone applied at movement joints, and the surface cleaned of haze.

Questions

New Tiling FAQs

Still unsure? Call +65 9348 1142 and speak to someone who does the work.

Can you tile over existing tiles?

Often yes, if the existing floor is sound, well-bonded, and level. Overlaying avoids hacking dust and disposal, though it raises the floor slightly. Where the base is hollow or uneven, we recommend hacking and re-laying instead.

Do you waterproof before tiling a bathroom?

Yes. Wet areas receive a waterproofing membrane over the screed, and we water-test it before laying tiles. Skipping this is the most common cause of leaks to the room or unit below.

Do you supply the tiles?

We can lay tiles you have selected and purchased, or advise on suitable tiles and arrange supply. Either way the quotation separates the tiling labour so you can compare it clearly.
